A disused fire station in the village of Lemsi on the island of Kihnu is being given a new lease of life with the creation of the Kihnu Naiiv Art Centre. Naive art is part of Kihnu’s traditional culture. The centre offers local people the opportunity to engage in amateur art. The art museum adds another stop on the way to Kihnu. The Art Desk brings together an open-air gallery, exhibition space and art storage. For fifteen years now, a naïve art camp has been held on the island of Kihnu, producing thousands of works of art. In order to better preserve and exhibit the art that has been preserved, it is necessary to create a centre that brings together the activities and art created on the island in a single repository.

The Kihnu Naiivikunstikeskus is an arts and creative centre to be built in an old fire station. Initially it will become an open-air gallery, and in the future the project will create an exhibition space in the centre.
The Naiive Arts Centre will add value to the island by hosting camps, courses and workshops. It will fill an important gap in the island’s tourist route.
